About Helen
Helen began working on stage as an assistant in her father’s (Arthur Coghlan) Magic and Illusion show, the largest production of its kind in Australia at the tender age of 15 and quickly became a top entertainer in her own right. She has won many awards, including Australia’s Junior Magician of the Year, a Queensland Variety Wallace Award and several awards from the Australian Convention of Magicians. More recently, Helen has been voted the most popular female celebrant on the Gold Coast (ABIA awards).
Helen has appeared on many of the top national TV shows and has also performed overseas, including being invited to perform at Hollywood’s prestigious Magic Castle. More recently Helen performed in Las Vegas with world-renowned magicians Penn & Teller.
Apart from the magic, Helen has also followed in her father’s footsteps to become one of Australia’s leading escapologists. She created a lot of media attention when she became the only woman in the world to escape from Houdini’s famous Water Torture Escape which was televised for national television. With her outgoing and pleasant personality, combined with her extensive entertainment background, she has been described as “an extremely caring person with a vibrant personality”.
